Do they have a similar review of wireless lapel microphones? Because I am currently looking for one.

Thanks for posting. Yeah, I probably should be looking to replace my AKG D1000e

http://recordinghacks.com/microphones/AKG-Acoustics/D-1000E

It worked OK on stage behind a drum kit (as long as my lips were touching the wind screen) but its output is low by any standard.

Actually, I'm looking for a stereo cardioid or super cardioid to go on a camera via 3.5 mm TRS. I've been shooting in loud crowds and I would like to have a mic that would reject loud side and back sounds.

Red Prince -- I don't know, but take a look at the site and you can probably find out.

All right, will do. Thanks.

I would take a look at some of Rode's Video Mic offerings.

I have my eye on the Azden SMX-30. Switchable mono/stereo:

Thanks Nick. I had distilled my search to this one...

... I particularly like the auto on/off function of the Asden, though. I have enough to keep track of already.

FWIW, Azden products are not highly regarded by audio folks. Though some of there wireless systems 'appear' impressive. I would go with the usual suspect standards. AT, Lectro, Rode, Sennheiser, Shure, ect.

@Red Prince, I bought the Sennheiser EW 100 G3 system (can handle a lav mic or any mic with an XLR connector on it) a few years ago and remain very happy with it.

If a lav mic is all you'll ever use with it, Sennheiser has a cheaper option.

I bought a Sanken COS-11D lav mic to go along with it as the supplied mic is ok but not up to the Sanken standards. Have your dealer wire it with the appropriate connector for your needs. Lots of accessories for it too.
