NewBlue Titler EX - OpenFX item (crashes Vegas Pro 14)

Ok thanks for all of that Cornico and Quitter. I just tried updating using the origional Magix updater, de-selected items except NewBlue. I have 160926. It then installed the original, 160824. There was then an update message, I ran that and got back to 160926 (I noticed a few error messages in its updating process, files not found etc). So the updater doesn't give 161118 as an update option.

Do I just use the seperate download link in the forum thread for 161118? And the other suggestions, deleting folders etc is that all necessary?

Former user wrote on 5/1/2017, 8:06 AM

Ok Quitter, I downloaded/installed 161118, as you say, shows as 161119. The number of items in brackets matchs yours now. I assume there not trial ware. I didn't bother deleting folders etc, just see how things go, there were a few file not found messages etc within the install procedure, but it completed.

Cornico, as Nick near the end of that other link, page 2, you drew attention to, well the NewBlue guy says Magix havent updated to point to the new updater, thats why I was only getting updating to the older version 160926.

Thanks

This looks similar? Cornico.

Sure looks like a serious learning curve😅

The NewBlue bundle includes not all FX of TotalFX, only the numbers in brace characters
160926 is the second update 161118 the last
Your items 2-6 come with VP14, you should have a serial for that

NewBlue Video Essentials VI comes with SVP13

Actually, the latest build is 170103.

Actually, the latest build is 170103.

To avoid misunderstanding:
170103 is the buildnumber of NewBlueTitler Pro 5, not of VegasComplete

For anyone having issues with Titler Pro Express (or any other product), please do contact NewBlue Tech Support. It is possible that the OP needs an updated build. But everything would be much easier diagnosed with a support ticket to NewBlue.

The users with Bundled product are having issues. These bundled products are old versions. I am not sure NewBlueFX will provide support for bundled product. I have licensed latest version of Titler Pro which has no issues. I never buy bundled products.

@suhaib-siddiqi: I got a response to a ticket I opened on the NBFX website for my bundled Titler Express. However, the suggested steps below do not fix the issue. See the attached screenshots for what happens when I drag the Titler Express on to a video event.

BTW, I've tried different types of video media with the same result and the drivers for my onboard Intel HD 3000 chipset are up to date (core i7).

Please note that this package includes Titler Pro Express - not Titler Pro 3.

When installing or uninstalling our products, it is always vital that you first reboot. If Vegas has been started and closed, it is quite possible for it to remain in memory and keep some of our files locked preventing a proper installation. I would also recommend uninstalling any previous version you have installed before installing the newest build. You can also do a clean install:

Reboot

Uninstall any versions installed

in C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX, delete the Titler folder

in C:\Program Files\NewBlue, delete the Titler Pro 2.0 for Windows folder

in C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\NewBlue, delete TitlerPro.ofx.bundle

in C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\NewBlueFX, delete TitlerPro2.ofx.bundle

Now reinstall http://www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Magix/NewBlueVegasProComplete-161118.exe

If, after reinstalling, you get an error using Titler pro, try going to C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Common and remove the OFXBridgeB64.dll file.

If Vegas is not seeing the proper version of Titler Pro, start Vegas Pro 14 while holding down the CTRL-SHIFT keys, and check the “Clear cache” box in the window that opens.

If you have a full version of Titler installed but can only see the QuickEdit screen (i.e. it believes you are on Titler Express), open the NewBlue Application Manager, click on the gear icon and choose the option to log out, and then log back in. This will force the activation to be reset. Logging out of the Application Manager will deactivate all products on that machine. Logging back in will reactivate them.

To get your Vegas preview screen to update while Titler Pro is open, in Vegas go to Options - Preferences and uncheck the “Close media files when not the active application” option.

prairiedogpicsm@  Titler Pro/Express 3.00 is a very old version. It was released in 2013. I do not know, it will work with Vegas v14 or not. NewBlueFX is the best bet to help you in your case. Maybe go uninstall Titler Pro first then rename C:\program files\Common Files\OFS\Plugins to C:\program files\Common Files\OFS\Plugins-old. Reinstall Titler Pro and see if it works for you. If does then you need to find out which plugin is causing trouble. You can start moving one plug in from C:\program files\Common Files\OFS\Plugins-old to C:\program files\Common Files\OFS\Plugins at a time and restarting Vegas after you move the plugin from C:\program files\Common Files\OFS\Plugins-old C:\program files\Common Files\OFS\Plugins. Keep going until you find out which plugin was causing trouble.

I am using Titler Pro 5 Ultimate licensed directly from NewBlueFX, which works without any problem in all of my NLE (Vegas & Resolve.)

You misunderstand. I bought the bundled upgrade to Vegas Pro 14 (from 13) two months ago (2/2/2017). It included the NewBlueFX Titler Pro Express, ProDAD Mercalli, and some izotope plugins . I installed both V14 and Titler Pro Express at that time (and everything else). Both (all of it) worked fine. Yesterday I updated to the 252 build for V14. That update broke Titler Pro Express. See screenshot for the currently installed version.

OK, but still version 3 of Titler is ancient. Is MAGIX selling it? Current version of Titler Pro is 5.0. It is old version bundled for Vegas v14 to lure people to buy latest Titler Pro 5.0

I had crashes with build 252, after upgrade to Windows 10 Creator update. It was MS C++ Reditributable issue. Try going to Control Panel and run Repair on all of your MS C++ redistributable. Also make sure you have Microsoft C++ 2010 Redistributable installed. Vegas 14 and NewBLueFX both use it.

@Cornico Same thing. Similar behavior in older 64-bit versions of Vegas Pro as well (10 & 13).

If you run C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Titler\TitlerStandalone.exe does it work?

maybe a problem with your graphic card and the Titler

as far as i know, are Intel HD cards lower than 4000 not supported.
please correct me, if it's wrong

@Quitter I tried running the TitlerStandalone.exe last night. Same problem. I looked at the specs for Titler Pro; didn't see anything that ruled out my Intel HD 3000, which is definitely OpenGL 2.1 compatible.

Have you contacted NewBlue FX? They have been good to me in the past when I had an issue.

Home built PC - Corsair case, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Code motherboard, i9 9900k, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz,  Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB graphics card, Corsair 1000 watt power supply. Windows 11.

@james-ollick Yes, I have a work order open with them. Edward answered my initial inquiry (his answer is posted above in this thread), but I've received no follow-up since reporting on my results.

Please read this thread https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/best-video-card-with-newblue-titler-3--97447/. According to it Intel on-board video card 3000 may cause troubles with Tiler Pro 3.

prairiedogpics wrote on 5/3/2017, 12:37 PM

@suhaib-siddiqi Oy. I fear you are correct. Did a little Googling and I do see posts around the web that say NBFX Titler 3 is not workable with Intel HD integrated graphics. I have an nVidia card lying around and will put it in my machine to see if that allows Titler Express to run....

jetdv wrote on 5/5/2017, 4:47 PM

If you are trying to use the Titler Pro which came bundled with your Vegas 13, then you are trying to make an outdated Titler Pro 2 work with newer software. It is not going to work.

For the record, there was no versions of Titler Pro bundle with Vegas Pro 13. It came with Video Essentials 6. Vegas Pro 11 and 12 came bundled with Titler Pro 1. Titler Pro 2 has not been bundled with any version of Vegas. The Suite version of Vegas Pro 14 comes with Titler Pro 3.

For anyone getting any error with Titler Pro or Titler Express in Vegas Pro 14, please do contact NewBlue Tech Support so we can resolve any issues. Plus, it is always good to make sure you're on the newest build.
