I have not got the email offer yet, so the price of the upgrade being offered to me was 235/249 too.

But by going into "My account / My Software" and clicking on the upgrade offer, then copying the "Qualifying Serial Number", then going to ken's link at

http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/promo.asp?keycode=63001&url=/shopping/item.asp?PID=416

and pasting in the qualifying serial number from my Sony account, I then got the $135 offer instead, which I will take up pronto :)

Thanks for the idea Wombat, and everything worked as you said, it was $134.95 until I went to the checkout, then the deducted $100 suddenly got added back into the price.

I'll just have to wait for my own email, I guess...

That happened to me too, I called Sony support re pricing, the guy said make sure cookies are on etc.. so check zone alarm and/or privacy settings maybe? or try another browser/pc... that always does it for me..

Thanks guys - must have been a cookie thing - I repeated Wombat's procedure in IE instead of Opera, and everything worked ok.

Vic, it was interesting.

Ken, think about the marketing approach. Water into wine. Think bigger, watch Sony the next 6 months. A lot a people running around about BR, PSP, PSP3, etc....... the world is ending....... just keep watching the market. HP stock is struggling for a future, Dell is rethinking market, MS is force to think about sharing a largepart of downloadable market with Apple,Sony, and others. IBM is looking better everyday without Apple......
Intel management is hinting that maybe MS alliance needs serious review and that Apple and others can take the software stage, more the merrier.

This is the same upgrade pricing they've done for years, isn't it? The difference being that up until last year, you could go to V6+DVDA3 for $200/250 (to just vegas or vegas + DVDA if you already owned/to vegas+dvda if you just owned vegas, no dvda) but you got a $50 discount for ~1 month after release.

Looks like this year they've upped the upgrade price $50 before discount (it's $250 starting november. Get those copys now! :)

Well, I paid for the upgrade about ten hours ago but haven't received an acknowledgement/serial number yet - hopefully this is because they're snowed under with new purchases.

Peter, I upgraded yesterday morning and haven't received my e-mail confirmation either. (I just posted a new forum topic to that effect.) In the meantime, click on the "MyAccount" link above and your new Vegas v7 and DVDA v4 serial numbers will be in there.
