Does the audio Mixer/Master meter show activity on playback?

If so, confirm the desired soundcard or playback interface is selected in the "Options> Preferences"> Audio Device"

There are no readings on the meter. Don't know why it's not getting the audio when all the other software are.

Have your tried different file types. Try a PCM <.wav> file. MP3s have been known to cause MP3 playback issues on some PCs. Confirm the event, track, sub-master or master is not muted somewhere

A full reset of VP may fix it :
Hold down the CTRL + SHIFT keys at the same time and click the executable file <.exe> or shortcut icon to start the program. A pop-up option dialog asks. "Do you want to reset all Vegas Pro preferences to default values?" and "Delete all Cached Application Data?"
This will restore VP to the Factory Default Settings.

Problem solved, the job I edited in the trial version of Vegas Pro 17 would not play audio when opened in the full version, so I opened a new job, drop a couple of the original files audio and video in the full ver. and it works. Thank you so very much for all your help. Hopefully, this will help someone else. Thanks again
