Probably the 24-bit LPCM audio is causing an issue ... if you extract the audio to a .wav using FFMPEG, then drop the .wav on the timeline, it'll likely work just fine.

barry-fritz wrote on 9/28/2016, 2:45 PM

Extracting audio into a wav file creates another step in an already tight schedule.  The files are fine with V13.  Audio from VEG files that I created in V13 work fine in V13 but will drop audio in V14.

So it sounds like a bug and you should submit a support request at https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/vegas/form

Happy to test a sample in VP12/13/14 if you post a link to one.

I do agree that this is likely a defect (e.g. bug), and should be submitted as such.

What I was offering was a solution that should allow work to continue in the interim.

Quite possible the mxhevcplug.dll causes this, as we just found another BMCC media reading problem on this topic:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/cinema-camera-judder--104427/?page=2#ca645406

Temporarily disabling the mxhevcplug.dll and 'force' VP14 to use qt7plug.dll again should fix this issue.

@barry-fritz Could you (or anyone else who gets this problem) possibly upload a sample file (e.g. in your Dropbox "Public" folder or Google Drive) to help Magix diagnose and fix the problem?

VEGAS_EricD wrote on 3/28/2017, 11:42 AM

@barry-fritz Is it possible to upload an example file for us so we can take a look at the issue in our office?

NickHope wrote on 3/29/2017, 11:44 AM

@VEGAS_EricD It's not from BlackMagic but the ProRes sample(s) from ARRI with multi-channel audio that I linked to in this comment might be useful for you in resolving this issue.

VEGAS_EricD wrote on 3/29/2017, 12:10 PM

Thanks.  I passed that info on internally.  We would still like to obtain example Black Magic footage for verification purposes, if possible.

I just found the same problem. How best to submit sample Black Magic Footage? It loads and plays properly in Vegas Pro 13.

Thanks.  I passed that info on internally.  We would still like to obtain example Black Magic footage for verification purposes, if possible.
