No .mkv support in Vegas Pro 21

It has limited mkv support, For a sample file I tried on Vegas it could not load video or audio, with Resolve it loaded only video, both Vegas and Resolve did not load:

Format                                   : E-AC-3 JOC
Format/Info                              : Enhanced AC-3 with Joint Object Coding
Commercial name                          : Dolby Digital Plus with Dolby Atmos
Codec ID                                 : A_EAC3

Vegas could not load:

Format                                   : AVC
Format/Info                              : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile                           : High@L4
Format settings                          : CABAC / 4 Ref Frames
Format settings, CABAC                   : Yes
Format settings, Reference frames        : 4 frames
Codec ID                                 : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC

Capcut loads the file fine, audio and video playing but appears to have no ability to make chapters.

I did find this for using Drax, but still.... seems like a very basic function after all these years.

No. It's no longer experimental (not that I'd recommend it; more like beta now)

What's in the MKV? Maybe send a bug report or make a post with the details of it (include MediaInfo or similar detail for the MKV).

I see.

Limited MKV support wasn't removed, it was made official.
Here's where you can get MediaInfo (I use it embedded in MPC BE).
