No professional Closed Captions in Vegas 15??

I am very disappointed to hear my broadcast spots were flagged by QC because they only have EA608 closed captions. The standard for HD broadcast is EA708 captions. This is a big deal as what is the purpose of having your software do closed captions if not for broadcast television??? This is not an easy fix apparently and I am now forced to look at other NLE's, etc. just because of a failure to keep up with the latest Closed Captioning standards. Very disappointed!

Hi Nick. Thanks for the thread discussions but I'm guessing you understand that Vegas doesn't offer a solution here. I can't imagine why this isn't being addressed. The attraction to Vegas has always been that it works excellent for people form beginning to end of the workflow. To have this big gaping hole at the end of the workflow just doesn't make any sense. If we must use other options to finish our work then that can only be a problem for Vegas going forward. I thought the new focus was to try and truly be professional but still not quite there.

I am waiting for a script to record what is being said on the video and automatically insert it to the video clip as a take on the fly. Then manually go through to correct what needs to be corrected.

Yes, I was just drawing your attention to previous discussion and trying to avoid an unnecessary repeat. It needs fixing, and I guess the reason it hasn't yet been fixed is just down to resources vs priorities. Adding your voice with a support request can't do any harm. My experience is that that's the best way to get stuff fixed.
