If you are looking to burn a DVD, the DVD specification required mpeg 2, and DVDA will re-enconde if requiered (although it would be better to encode to mpeg2 in the firsdt place). Blu ray can accommodate various files in an MP4 wrapper.

Here's a tutorial I created on sending optimized video to DVD Architect. It deals with a different editor, but the concept is the same. As Robbie says, you should use video optimized for disc rather than MP4s or another format for best results.

Yesterday I bought DVD Architect 7. because of the opportunities of that software. I render all my movies in mp4 in Video Pro X, but to dismay I can only use mpeg2 in Architect. Is there no possibility to do that. I looked in the manual but could't find anything😭😰😥😢

With DVDA 7 you can make DVD and Bluray discs or images.
What is it that you want to make out of your mp4?
I show you how to make a DVD out of a HD mp4 videofile.

When I saw your instruction, I could see that you link a mp4 file to DVD Architect. When I tried that I get the message Unsupported format

j-v wrote on 3/28/2020, 10:04 AM

I did not link a mp4 file, but I loaded it in the program as you could see and you can also see that the rendering in DVDA was starting, but that takes a while , as you also could see, the file has to be transferred to mpeg 2 while it was a AVC coded mp4 file.

Strange. I didn't see that at first notice, but tried it now, but getting a simular message. It's now: the file is not of the required type

j-v wrote on 3/28/2020, 11:25 AM

What is the type of mp4, which codec is used a.s.o.. See here how to report:https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

@Nick Hope tells you in the link I gave you:

Open your file with it, and switch it to text view ("View" > "Text")
Highlight all the text in the window, copy it and paste it in your forum post.
