Notification NVidia driver 526.98 update problem.

Wiew wrote on 11/19/2022, 1:58 PM

Just to let everyone know , so they don't need to search

Had some problems today , the preview screen was not showing effects while adjusting

When I do adjustments ,  like PIP , it doesn't show on the screen , and when I close the fx window ,it pops up and I can see what I have altered

Also , when rendering, there was no render preview , only a static image

Tried a lot of things , reset of Vegas and so on

suddeny I remembered the notification of the NVidia driver update last night, I did the update

So I did a rollback , Everything is working again ;-)

I thought you guy's would like to know

Strange, but I'm not seeing this. It is working as expected. V20-214 (Studio Version).

Thanks for the heads up. What is your GPU model?

The latest studio driver 526.98 seems fine (using it with a 2080 Super) but the gaming drivers had this issue for others over the past month (I didn't test it directly).

Custom PC (2022) Intel i5-13600K with UHD 770 iGPU with latest driver, MSI z690 Tomahawk motherboard, 64GB Corsair DDR5 5200 ram, NVIDIA 2080 Super (8GB) with latest studio driver, 2TB Hynix P41 SSD and 2TB Samsung 980 Pro cache drive, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit

Dell XPS 15 laptop (2017) 32GB ram, NVIDIA 1050 (4GB) with latest studio driver, Intel i7-7700HQ with Intel 630 iGPU (latest available driver), dual internal SSD (1TB; 1TB), Windows 10 64 bit

It is an older model of laptop and videocard

Maybe that could be the problem

Need a new one , almost Christmas ;-)

Standard Spec for 1050:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/graphics-cards/geforce-gtx-1050/specifications/

1050Ti:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/graphics-cards/geforce-gtx-1050-ti/specifications/

If you have 1050 with 3GB on board RAM you are likely to have problems as 4GB is specified as min.

I have found that Vegas is quite tolerant of CPU spec as I am running a 3rd Gen i5 Intel at 4GHz and can run all the AI stuff fine.

The standard spec for laptop 1050s is 4GB of ram as far as I'm aware.

My own laptop with i7-7700HQ and GTX 1050 with 4GB of ram is running the 526.98 studio driver. I just checked and PiP and Vignette and titles and text are working normally.

I've now seen two other posts (one being mine) noting problems with previewing FX (when applied to the media level), including pan/crop not behaving properly. I'm wondering if there was a Windows update that just rolled out causing problems for a bunch of ppl? We know Vegas didn't just roll out a new update, and both NVIDIA and Radeon users seem to be noticing this.

I added brightness and contrast and a LUT at the media level and see a preview in real time with the NVIDIA 526.98 driver and my GTX 1050. It's a Windows 10 system.

On the theory it was a Windows update my system is Windows 10 build 19044.2251 while the OP is using build 19045.

We were both using the same 526.98 NVIDIA driver though only his system had an issue. My Intel HD graphics is on 31.0.101.2114; not sure about @Wiew.

A little update , I did the Vegas upgrade yesterday , from 19 to 20 Edit.

I also did a complete reset of my laptop and a fresh install of everything

Nvidia automaticly installed the latest driver 526.98

Got the same problems , like discribed above. Not responding in the fx window and so on

Also the new zoom function of the preview screen was completely unusable

the images got the weirdest proportions,

I styarted to rollback and tried several Nvidea drivers to get a normal behaviour.

I had to rollback to the Nvidia driver of 18 october 2022 "522.30"

Everything preforms perfect with this driver over here

This is so strange. I wonder what the difference between our systems is.

Thanks for the heads up. What is your GPU model?

The latest studio driver 526.98 seems fine (using it with a 2080 Super) but the gaming drivers had this issue for others over the past month (I didn't test it directly).

Thanks for having this conversation !! I had this problem with my laptop ( that i didn't used for a couple of mouths because I'm only using it when I'm in a business trip ) and after hours I came here and saw your comments. I reverted back to studio driver 526.98 and it's fine again. TY, it's 3 am and I can go to sleep knowing that tomorrow everything will work

We figured this out months ago. Either revert to driver 522.30 on NVIDIA laptops or use a new driver and change this setting:
