OFX?

Movie Studio 12 divides its Video FX and Media Generators into a number of categories -- Sony FX, Third Party, etc.

One of these categories is OFX. Anybody got any idea what OFX stands for? Maybe "old FX"? or "original FX"?

This was covered in the excellent webinar with Gary Rebholtz .

OFX= 'open effects,' effects provided/made by 'open source' video effects creators or 'third party' developers including Boris FX, genArts, Pro DAD, RED GIANT (e.g. Magic Bullet), Re: Vision (e.g. Twixtor) and of course NewBlue products.
