@andyrpsmith ... Are you using RX7's plugins in VST2 or VST3 format in VP20? RX10's plugins are VST3 only - from the RX10 link above, it states at the bottom of the RX10 comparison page:
RX 10 plug-ins are not available in VST2 format.
Just a possibility - if using RX7 VST2, VP20 might be handling VST2 better than it does with RX10's VST3.
... the features with a single asterisk ' * ' are available as a plugin (see the legend at the bottom of the comparison list). There is no asterisk attached to De-wind.
... in VP you can choose what Audio Editor you want, and then it’s an easy case of editing the Audio Event as a Take, and THEN you have ALL the goodies in RX10Adv at your disposal
Indeed, in Vegas Pro you can set RX as your preferred audio editor in Options/Preferences/Audio which enables direct access to RX from the audio event on Vegas Pro's timeline by R clicking the audio event and selecting "Open in Audio Editor" or "Open Copy in Audio Editor", the latter creating a copy of the audio event thus leaving the original audio event as is.
Thanks @Dexcon... i was going throught their website few times, but somehow had to miss that! Cheers. Unfortunately, i tried the open in the editor version, but it looks like RX doesnt open mxf files from sony fx6. and exporting audio clips to wav files every time is not an option. damn
Been using this method since it’s been available. It’s exactly the no- nonsense, “Grazie-Proof” workflow I’m always striving for. It’s stunningly simple and doesn’t put a brake on VP having to process the Audio Event that occurs if you process the SFx on the Timeline. KUDOS to the iZo team and VP in working on the handshake, in providing this slick workflow.
You guys need to check out this small free AI noise reducer / voice separator VST tool, and kick Izotope RX to the curb, lol, they are just getting more and more bloated while other tools are slowly surpassing them.
The tool i am speaking of is called "Goyo voice separator" and can be downloaded here: https://goyo.app/ Makes Izotope RX looks like a little baby. Its versatility is right up there comparable to Waves Clarity Vx Pro.
Steve_Rhoden, thanks for that. Tried it on a poorly recorded boomy echoey YouTube video and it isolated the vocals just fine and made it much more listenable.
I was editing a trip to harry Potter Studios in March, very windy so used RX7 and RX10 voice denoise. Found that RX7 works correctly with V20-370 but RX10 does not. when using RX10 the video image in preview stops while the sound continues. The analysis eventually completes and you are handed back the the video image. with RX7 it all works correctly with sound and image displayed during the analysis. (this is in learn mode which is my preferred mode).
This issue has now been fixed in update 402 I'm happy to say.
Just to be clear, I have Vegas Pro 19, have got the Izotope RX10 elements today, which is VST3. Vegas Pro 19 doesen't work with it because it is VST3 correct? I have to upgrade to version 21 to able to use it?
My understanding is the same as yours- the VST3 won't work though you can use the editor itself as the external audio editor and use VST3s through that. VP 21 does work with VST3.

Earlier versions of iZ's RX Elements had a VST-2 option. . If you also have Sound Forge (Audio Studio or Pro), the Vegas event or the entire audio file can be opened from Vegas in Sound Forge. VST-3 support was added to Magix Sound Forge with version 12 or 13..
