Well, the judges asked for MPEG1, so I didn't consider VCD as this would be MPEG2.

Now this is very interesting John: "MPEG1, by definition, is a progressive format. Outside of the constraints of the VCD format, MPEG1 can look pretty decent as a 640x480 progressive file encoded at around 4000k. Also, most all computers, PC or MAC, can natively play an MPEG1 file."

As a test I've been playing my "samples" on my standalone DVD. Maybe I should also do what Theforce suggests and do two versions. One for PC - progressive via TMPGenc - and one for DVD players!

Anyway, you guys are great! Thanks again . .. I'm getting there ..

I meant SVCD!

'Now, how have you been playing your "samples" on your DVD player?"' . . I open the tray, go play and it plays! What else can I tell you John? Is this a trick question? - Problem I get is when I do a F A S T forward and then resume playing at normal speed.

"What method have you been using to write the files to the disc(s)?" - as I described above using TEMPGenc:

1/- Very slow BEST encoding

2/- 4.5mbps

3/- Frame size to match my original PAL setting of 720 x 576 pixels

Thanks,
