Congratulations Dave. Looks like a keeper. 46 years after our first child was born I still remember the excitement and delight my wife and I felt over the event.

You've a wonderful future to look forward to as you begin your new family.

Congratulations!

And just be relieved to know that the software updates will be coming less frequently as the months go by, going from almost hourly to a few times per day, always delivered automatically through advanced "push" technology, with initially the green channel being dominant and going well over 100 IRE...

" Wait a few weeks before you introduce the little guy to Vegas ;-) "

Absolutely, but maybe start him off on the Studio Version. =)

Congratulations, Dave!

It's been 12 years since I had one like that, and it's still the life-changer it was on day one.

Best wishes to both of you, and get ready for the ride.

Congratulations! A fine looking new person!

Caution: Video tape is cheap and tapeless storage is even cheaper. Be careful what you shoot, because editing videos of your own kids is really tough. I have so many hours of kids' video that even their grandparents wouldn't watch it all.

OK, I have to put a few more pics up... I can't help myself :)

Ok, I'll try and stop now - I've got 300 of these bad boys from the first 4 days :)

Congratulations... Well our Lisa was born on 31/10/2008 at 01:15 so also relatively new...

This picture was taking only a few hours after birth. I don't know how this is handled on other places, but here in Luxembourg, children are only washed for the first time 3 days after birth. This is apparently better for health.

Hey Dream - Super Congrats - you should pop up a picture.

Ralphm:

Even better is tape and tapeless storage like the Z7. As I thought the Z7 would take too much attention to me, I decided to take an HC3 with me to shot some footage in the hospital itself. Unfortunately the camcorder had video head problems I never noticed before, so big parts of my footage are unusable.

man, I feel your pain, I've lost stuff to bad heads, but make sure you can't read it on another camcorder/deck as sometimes the data isn't totally lost but the head problems of the camera that we used to record worsen things as we play back.

Cute kid to be sure dream.

I hope you have a great time and enjoy every second.

My boy just had a projectile spitup that went over my wifes shoulder and hit the floor behind her ( make sure you've got lots of things to wipe up with :D ).
