+1 to this software, i like it.
Thats a little bit harsh Red.. It saves time having to copy URL then paste it, then type tag data, then type the description - thats always a good thing in my opinion. Less clicks. Its simple, and it works. (unlike v11 lol). And the last time i phoned an IT 'specialist' i told him how to do his job!
Paul.
PS, and another point comes to mind. How many times have we all typo'd the link? come on, be honest - this helps. Saves that slightly embarrasing Edit afterwards :)
I don't usually have trouble with typo-ing the link. I find the page i want to share in a browser first, then copy and paste the URL from there. That way i know it's correct in advance.
agreed, but its the tag info i was more thinking of. [img...[link... and end bracket . ]
Mistakes happen, why have any? Guess its a small point really. accepted.
I totally agree with Red Prince
The best way is to use the following bookmarklet (I found it on this forum, unfortunately I do not remember the author):
Oh, I like this bookmarklet. Now that is a very useful tool! Thank you for posting it!
The easiest way to install it is by visiting this site, then right-clicking the Add this link to your bookmarks to deploy on the forums text and choosing to bookmark the link from the pop-up menu (the exact text of the menu prompt may vary depending on which browser you use).
To use it, click Reply as before, then tell your browser to load the bookmarklet and, magically, not only will you get a nice editor with buttons for the various tags, you will also get a preview of what your message is going to look like after you save, a feature that by default is sorely lacking on this forum.

Paul, It is easier to type the link manually than to go to an outside program. But it is easier yet if you have a nice editor right in your browser. You just paste the link, select it, click the link button, and type in whatever description you want.
But to me the biggest advantage of the bookmarklet is that it shows you a preview of what your message will look like once you save it.
I can see that, but looking at the javascript it seems related to a website for its functionality. If that site ever goes down then you loose the tool. A bit like cloud based.
Me personally, i will stick with a .exe for now, but i agree that previewing is a big plus.
"Paul, It is easier to type the link manually than to go to an outside program..."I have no horse in this race, however, if you follow suggestion several posts up of applying a Windows shortcut key to launch LinkCreator.exe, then life is much easier. In other words, I've set up Alt+Ctrl+/ to launch the LinkCreator.exe. Therefore, you don't need to leave your editor window to launch the program.
You could also set this up as a Windows Favorite, but you need to thru annoying "are you sure" prompts.
