I know there are quite a few FFmpeg users on the forum, and that Vegasaur now includes it within its Smart Trim function.
FFmpeg 3.0 was released as new major version today. The source is here. I guess Windows builds will soon be here, or you can build your own using the instructions here.

I haven't tested it yet but I note the "extensive native AAC encoder improvements" (which I suspect may have already been in the last build) and I wonder if it will now support an MPEG container that will allow LPCM audio inside it. Doubt it but you never know. Also praying that the H.264 videos it encodes and muxes will play back with frame accuracy at the ends in Vegas, which in my experience they don't now.
