OT: HDYC, UYVY, v210 color spaces question

Hi, this question has nothing to do with Vegas, but it is video related. I don't understand anything about color space, nor do I intend to. However, I need to select the best option. I'm using my canon camcorder's HDMI output into a Black Magic Intensity Pro 4K card. This card is being used as a source in software called XSplit Broadcaster. That video source is then being used as a webcam in applications like Skype, Google Hangouts, etc.

There is an output setting in XSplit for the capture card where I have the option of choosing HDYC, UYVY or V210 for "colorspace/compression" For the configuration I stated above, which would be the best option for least amount of potential problems when using the camcorder as a webcam, such as audio/video sync, frame rate, etc? Thank you

I think that UYVY is not a good option because no HD resolutions are available for it. So that leaves HDYC and v210

"This card is being used as a source in software called XSplit Broadcaster. That video source is then being used as a webcam in applications like Skype, Google Hangouts, etc."

Just an observation from someone who also balks at understanding color spaces, etc. V210 at 32 bits per pixel 10 bit seems a little over-kill for online streaming. Look at the table under Packed YUV Formats.

I'm curious, but I don't always learn anything from these forays.

So then I guess I should stick with HDYC?

That would be my knee-jerk response until someone answers that knows what they are talking about.

Their tech support is terrible, been down that route already.

Have you also looked at Open Broadcaster Software? I have used it for screen capture but not for streaming.

I did look into that one, but it won't do what I need it to do unfortunately. XSplit is the right software, it's just a bit of a gauntlet to get everything configured and working properly. There's so many different points of failure between capture card driver versions, frame rates, resolutions, color space and on an on.
