I've got a bunch of WMV files on my website. I've noticed in my site's error logs that I'm getting 404 "file not found" errors or .smi files with the same name as the .wmv files.
Looking into this a bit further it seems the .smi files are written in SMIL and are for captioning, positioning and suchlike. It doesn't seem like such a bad idea to create tsome simple .smi files, so...
1. Has anyone got any tips about SMIL before I dive in?
2. Might I already have the tools to create these files automatically (Vegas, DVDA, Subtitle Workshop, Dreamweaver etc.)?
3. Can anyone recommend a free or cheap program to automate the SMIL authoring process?
thanks!
Nick
