One for Muttley

How do you turn on a USB-based sound system?
MisterPat wrote on 3/17/2004, 9:50 AM
It all depends on if you have dials, switches or voice activated, but you have to turn on the microphone to activate the speakers firstly, if you have voice activated control.

A USB sound system stands for Usually Sounds Bad.
Therefore I reccomend getting a SKA or Sounds Kick A$$ system,
or try carpooling.

Don't feel too stupid earthrisers... I have been called back to re-record several times in my career due to:

(1) Engineer forgot to take recorder out of "Safe" mode before recording.
(2) Engineer threaded tape oxide-out. (That was some time ago.)
(3) Producer thougt backup DAT wasn't necessary (Happend 5 times.)
(4) Producer didn't plug mic into camcorder - audio was recorded from quite a distance by camcorder mike.
(5) Engineer bulk-erased tape AFTER recording.
(6) Engineer put wrong machine in record mode, recording over my part.
(7) Engineer recorded to removable hard drive, along with another project. for another client, which the client took with him
(8) Unknown reasons, but there was no audio on the recording.

Some of these happend at big-time hollywood studios.

"How many licks does it take to get to the center of a totsie roll totsie pop?"

I'm still waiting for the answer!

ROTFLMAO!

LOVE the humor! :)

This is pretty funny, but the most funniest part of all is the feeling I have about the very fist post.... I really think he was serious. I think, it was NOT ment to be funny...that's why it took him 20 threads to answer... and i remember some of his previous posts on different topics, in all of them he sounded like .... nothing else but Universal-Studios-like production

but, yeah....

throw me a bone ....

Funny

CrazyRussian, sorry ya didn't seem to understand the nature of tongue-in-cheek post, but apparently most others did. I was only humored after one of the simple basic pat answers I gave in another thread ( that I linked in my original post ). This whole thing was a self-deprecating poke at myself. And yea I let it go awhile before piping in cuz, quite frankly, it was more funny just to read along. As for the " Universal-Studios-like production ", I'm not sure I understand what your getting at but I will say that I'm sorry if you didnt appreciate my attempt at humor.

Regardless, I enjoyed the ride, glad a few others appeared to as well. After all, if we can't poke fun of ourselves, who can we poke fun at ?

Crazy Russian, you would understand Ray's delightful humor better had you seen his recent "Valentine's" video. You owe it to yourself to check it out if it's still up at his website. And even if we didn't know Ray so well I know what the hell he's talking about man...you get help from this forum so much that one just wants to give something back! And it's very frustrating (when one of your genius buds here had to take the time to give someone an answer to some very elementary question that could EASILY be found in the help files or a search here) when you could have answered it. My problem has been that I have beat the pros to the punch and felt good about giving back to the community and then, I'll be damned if I didn't give a wrong answer!
One of these days though....
