BTW, my figure excludes HSN and the Preachies, most of whom are 480i. The Spanish-language channels are surprisingly, all 1080i.

i just planned on getting the Canon 550D for additional HD / fotolens video. Now I'm not so sure anymore. Any thoughts on the buying decision would be appreciated...

If it's anything like Sony's other camera and camcorder products, it may the first in it's class (a consumer camcorder with removable lenses), but it won't be the best. Personally, I think it well sell well, if it gets discounted down to the $1200-1300 US range. The best part is that Sony's competitors will likely throw something out there in the same tech and price range.

I like the transparent audio bars that showed in the demo video. wondering how they made it. Don't think they used Vegas to edit that demo video.
