...but what's this rabbit application ?

Rabbits have nothing on the falling sheep or the Kiki shadow in the original Amiga Video Toaster.

I got this awesome Idea.

I am going to buy a shirt that just says "Pro" really big on the front and back. Then I will have everything figured out. Sweeeeet.

Then I will have everything figured out.

But if you go pro, you will no longer be able to post in these threads meant for creative people.

Hmmm, I've seem to have stumbled aross a way to get paid to be creative. Am I breaking some sort of rule?

You know you're an amature when . . .

You have spent $5K+ on an AVID certified ws and "partner solutions" and training materials and have still not been able to acheive decent output, in two years of trying ... And, then, you allow them to convince you that an upgrade will fix all your problems !

Difference between the teacher and the student? The teacher has made more mistakes.

Difference between the professional and the amateur? The professional has lost more money because of mistakes.

Now there is potential Pandora's Box discussion fodder (not directed at anyone, just as an abstraction, BTW :)

OK, so there's "amateur" (non-derogatory version).
Then there's "professional" (also non-derogatory).

And then there is, uh..."semi-professional."

I don't make money with my vids (yet) but feel I am a bit past the label of amateur IMO and some people say my stuff looks professional (and I agree occasionally) but don't feel semi-pro would be honest.

So I slyly use "serious amateur" :)

Or, hey--wait a minute: isn't one of the definitions of being a pro = making money through one's skill?
Well, then all I have to do is sell one DVD for USD $ 1.00 and--bam! I'll be a pro.

(I know, I know, it's not just about making a buck. A pro makes a living with his or her skills. I'm just being silly here.)

The thing that makes me professional is the way I harness, organise and apply my amateur enthusiasm.
Vegas helps this a fair bit.

There's an entry for Bartlett's Quotations.
Well put.

It's likely that I'd be doing this type of work whether I got paid for it or not. Fortunately, I'll never have to test this theory.
