OT: YouTube back to 360p?

For a while I was blowing up my widescreen SD footage to 1280x720 to fool YouTube into posting it with decent quality, but went back to 480p when the quality of the posted videos seemed to improve.

Today I tried playing a video I uploaded a few days ago at 480p and found that it played only at 360p, and looked quite a bit worse than it used to. I'm guessing they're simplifying their procedure and will post only at 720 and 360. Anyone else notice this?

All my 1080 uploads still 1080. Same for 720s.

If you click the little "expand" arrows next to the full screen button, it might then give you the 480p option as well. Obviously you might need to choose it from the pop-up list of resolutions.

Yeah, you'd think, but not so. The videos I posted at 720p default to 360 and offer 720 as an option, but the videos I posted at 480p can only be watched at 360.
