Pan/Crop is working reversed, how to change this?

VegaMega wrote on 8/11/2024, 3:49 PM

I am trying to animate an image through pan/crop but when I move the mouse to the right, the image moves to the left, when I increase the size, the image get smaller. It seems to be moving the view port and not the image itself. Is there a way to reverse this? So actually moving the image and not the view port.

I tried using track motion but then my keyframes are all relative to the beginning of my video on not relative to my clip. So moving the clip forces me to do it all over again.

I am actually trying to make some kind of news ticker but with an image between the texts fragments.

Thanks for you help!

p.s. with pan/crop I also cannot get my image small enough for the ticker bar.... there seems to be limit to how big the view port may become....

That’s the way Pan/Crop works.

PAN/CROP is designed to work like you are operating a camera. Track motion works operating the image. When using Pan/Crop you have to think like a camera man.

@DMT3

These days, you have to think like a camera humanoid. In the future, AI will just scan the network for everything that was ever shot and deliver the customized video to social media for you.

Imagine that box inside Pan & Crop window is a camera viewfinder.

That's how it works...

Yes indeed, but you can combine with VideoFX : Picture-Picture OFX.

You can put this OFX before or after Pan & Crop chain, work both together. That's how I usually did it if I need to make the image usually like logo smaller than Pan & Crop can do.

I understand that pan/crop works like a camera man. But shouldn't we set the stage before the cameraman starts operating? So I am missing a stage editor! How do you put an image on the screen? E.g. a small logo in the corner. with pan/crop, even an image that I made smaller in photoshop got loaded full screen and I was unable to make it small enough to my likings.

@VegaMega Have you tried what set suggested in the post above yours? Use the Pan/Crop box to crop the image to the area you want then use PIP FX to resize and position.

Isn't the PIP FX the right tool for doing this? Place the logo everywhere on the screen in what every size (starting from zero) you want.
