Picture-in-Picture Keyframing not rendering properly

TheFVguy wrote on 10/29/2024, 5:39 PM

I tried looking for a solution to this problem for the past hour. Unfortunately, it seems I'm the only one who has it.

In my video project, I'm keyframing an image, following an exact direction (Basically a picture on top of another within the video). But every time it's rendered (Tried both MP4 and MPG, mainly looking for rendered in MPG) the frames are always out of sync, moving out of the position it needed to be.

It looks great in the preview, but it's always messed up during rendering. Is there any way to fix this? I'm using Vegas Pro 21 and have Windows 10.

Try turning off the GPU acceleration of video processing for a little bit, (want to see if the issue is stemming from there).....Restart Vegas , then hit your render again and see if it's still messed up.

Turned it off, but the same problem remains. I think there's just something wrong with the program in general.
Some added history and context:

When I started the project it was at 1920x1080 resolution because that was the original video's resolution. However, the render would be 720x480, so somebody from Reddit told me to fix the project resolution.

IT DID fix one clip of the video where the keyframes are in place in the final render, but another clip is still off and the keyframes/animation are out of place. It was very frustrating so I finally decided to start the project over again. This time with the correct resolution from the start. I thought this would fix the issue but no, the problem remains there despite it being entirely new. I’m editing an original video so maybe I have to render that video first into the proper resolution, then edit that render and add the keyframes? But it shouldn’t be that complicated right?

At this point, I'm very desperate and would let any expert have a hands-on approach to this.

@TheFVguy

By far, the most common cause of the situation you describe is having different frame resolutions and/or asoect ratios selected in your Project Properties vs. your Render Template. The must match, or the positioning of tracks you see in the Preview is not guaranteed to be passed along to your Output file.

Unfortunately, you cannot correct this once you have started your project. You must create your New Project at exactly the resolution and Pixel Aspect as the Output numbers you have chosen.

Post your complete Source, Project, and Output details per this thread if you need more peer assistance with this project.

Yes, as I explained I did exactly that, a new project but the problem remains the same. Unless I did something different?

OK. The frame rate might be the problem. The original is 24 frames while the rendering file was 29.9 or 30fps. I'll adjust the rendering template but knowing my history I'm not optimistic about this fix. I'll update it to see if it worked.

Your source media image size of 1920x810 is unusual.

Is your Project set to the same size and are you rendering to the same size?

Relatively few Render Templates support the unconventional delivery aspect you have chosen. Since you may not be comfortable posting the Render File Properties that were requested as well, an alternative is to upload your rendered output file to Drive or Dropbox only, not an online player or to this forum, thanks again.

Do you use Motion tracking?

Hey, I solved the issue. It works now, thank you.
