I've asked for this before with no effect. It seems like such a small thing. When starting Vegas Pro, if there's an update available there's a message. However, there's no information as to the version/build number (like Build 370) available. Or if there is, I'm completely missing it. If you click "New in this update" or whatever button gets you more info, you don't get it either.
I've been working on Windows since 3.1, and one thing that has proven invaluable to me is setting a restore point before every software update, especially for complex programs like Vegas. Windows lets you add a short title, and I usually say "Before updating Vegas Pro to version ????". Except Vegas doesn't let me do that, since they don't provide that information. Instead I have to hunt down the download link (which I always forget is not on the main Vegas site) to this forum. Even the registration page which lists all the Magix software I have registered only says to redownload the installation package, not what version of the software is being downloaded.
Couldn't the folks who write the text for information about the new release include the actual release/build number? Just about all the software packages I own tell you what the update number is before you download/install it.
