@VEGASPascal

With GPU set to Off, the Border fX works as expected for me.

Video Driver: win10-win11-radeon-pro-software-21.q4-dec3 downloaded from within Vegas Pro 19-424.

  • , the soft BorderFX dosnt change its shape when i crop the scene to another aspect ratio.

@john_dennis @jetdv That's a quote from the OP, so what happens when you do this tho, turn Stretch to fill frame off

I used a solid border so it's easier to see & Track Motion to create an example, but i would like & i think the OP would like it to look something like the pic below but the image cropped however wanted

VP19 , GPU on or off, I can't find any way to crop an image smaller, place wherever on the screen & then put a border just around that cropped image using any tool, Crop, Pan/Crop (without stretch to fill on) or any of the other fx inc Boris stuff, I'm pretty sure you used to be able to just swap the tabs around at the top of the Videofx window.

@Former user

Vegas Pro developers have acknowledged that Border is broken with GPU on. I’m not slicen’ and dicen’ it any further unless they want to send me a beta fix.

Hey guys, i have a huge problem with my Vegas Pro 19.

I edited my whole Video Cinema-like with Black borders at the top and bottom of my Video with the "Pan/Crop" function..

now i want to add a soft edge border to some scenes of my cropped Video but the Soft-edge is only visible on the right and left side of the video. The problem is, the soft BorderFX dosnt change its shape when i crop the scene to another aspect ratio.

So Top and Bottom isnt affected by the soft edge border because of the use of Pan/Crop

My Vegas Pro 18 works well but i dont find the right solution for my version Pro 19.

i added 2 Youtube-videos to show my Problem.

We added the GPU acceleration for the Borders FX in VP19 and reproduced now the issue in combination with "Pan/Crop". Could you deactivate the GPU acceleration in the preferences and check the expected behaviour? If the workarround is working I will create a detailed bug report. Thanks for your report.

Deactivate the GPU acceleration in "preferences > Video" fixed the problem, i can use the Border FX now correctly in Vegas Pro 19.

Thanks alot.

Per request from Magix Support: [Ticket#2021120517000228]

Shows my i7-6850K RX480 system that fails to recover video after Border fX is set to 1.0, then with Dynamic Ram Preview set to 0 and GPU Acceleration set to Off, the Border fX recovers as expected. Border also tracks the shape of the Pan/Crop box.

I have confirmed with our Dev Team that this appears to be a known issue that is currently being worked on by said dev team. For now we would suggest using the workaround of disabling the GPU tell this can be addressed.

The fix to GPU acceleration that is the root cause of this issue is not included in Vegas Pro 19-532.

@VEGASPascal

This version of the issue is resolved for me in Vegas Pro 19-532 for my workstation and laptop with GPU on.
