Problems with .avi in vegas pro 9

In sony vegas pro 9 on windows 7, when i'm trying to import  an avi file from bandicam it shows up as 0.07 second of "audio" (it shows up in the audio layer but has no actual audio). I haven't found anything about this on the internet as most problems with avi give an error, not some empty audio layer.

I already installed the codec packs from the bandicam website but that hasn't solved anything.
Is there any codec pack or something that will solve this?

Thanks in advance,

Jonajurgen.

Bandicam uses an unconventional codec and the files it produces are notorious for causing problems in Vegas. In this thread you'll find some suggestions and ultimately the poster fixed the problem by converting with the Freemake Video Converter but they don't say to what format. You could try recording with OBS Studio instead, which produces more Vegas-compatible files.
