ProRes 4444 alpha channel not recognized in Vegas Pro 16

Marco_Polo wrote on 12/6/2018, 3:28 AM

I am using Vegas Pro 16 build 307 on Windows 10.

When I import footage from an external party encoded in ProRes 4444, the alpha channel is not recognized.

Setting the alpha channel to 'straight' of 'premultiplied' makes no difference; alpha channel not visible/working.

How to solve this? Or is this a known error?

Thanks!

Yes

Update: I have upgraded to Vegas Pro 17 build 353 and this known error is gone.

So ProRes 4444 alpha channel is recognized now.

It looks like this functionality requires the so4compoundplug.dll be enabled, so if you've disabled it to reduce VPs crashiness, keep that in mind if you need prores alpha support
