ProRes 4444 alpha channel not recognized in Vegas Pro 16 Marco_Polo wrote on 12/6/2018, 3:28 AM I am using Vegas Pro 16 build 307 on Windows 10. When I import footage from an external party encoded in ProRes 4444, the alpha channel is not recognized. Setting the alpha channel to 'straight' of 'premultiplied' makes no difference; alpha channel not visible/working. How to solve this? Or is this a known error? Thanks! Back to post

Yes NickHope wrote on 12/6/2018, 5:28 AM https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/alpha-channel-not-working--113478/ Marco_Polo wrote on 11/26/2019, 4:18 AM Update: I have upgraded to Vegas Pro 17 build 353 and this known error is gone. So ProRes 4444 alpha channel is recognized now. michael-harrison wrote on 6/27/2020, 1:23 PM It looks like this functionality requires the so4compoundplug.dll be enabled, so if you've disabled it to reduce VPs crashiness, keep that in mind if you need prores alpha support 1
