The proxy properties will match the source file properties except of the resolution and assumed the proxys are used the way them are meant to be used. We had tons of postings about this topic.
Marco, so tell me how to use it? I do so in written Help.
Here is the data source file:
Video
Format : DV
Duration : 13s 920ms

Height : 576 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 4:3
Frame rate : 25.000 fps
Standard : PAL
Color space : YUV
Scan type : Interlaced
Scan order : Bottom Field First
This data is a proxy file:
Video
Format : MPEG Video
Duration : 14s 515ms
Width : 1 280 pixels
Height : 720 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 16:9
Frame rate : 23.976 fps
Standard : Component
Color space : YUV
Scan type : Progressive
If you use the proxys right as described in the Vegas Pro help file then everything is fine and the proxy files will always match the properties of your source file.
The trick is Vegas Pro reads any single frame from the proxy file but at the same time reads the meta data (so the properties) from the source file.
It's no odds at all what properties are shown for the .sfvp0 files as Vegas does not use this information.
Please do a forum search for this topic because this and many more information about the proxy workflow were already given several times.
