Remove In out Point

alifftudm95 wrote on 9/23/2021, 6:08 AM

In Resolve, ALT + X will remove both In and Out Point.

Is there a way for removing In/Out selection in VEGAS Pro? I'm not talking about collapsing the loop region. Just completely get rid of the Yellow in/out and light grey selection from timeline.

Reason why I wanna remove it cuz I just got TourBox editing consoles. The control knob do read & control VEGAS Pro playhead precisely. However everytime I turn the knob, the region will be created along the way.

I wish there were a way to clear it with one button.

Hmm seems like that function is not available. Luckily I found a workaround with my TourBox, Highly recommend. Work very well with VEGAS. https://www.tourboxtech.com/en/index.html

Will you make a short video about your new gizmo?

gary-rebholz wrote on 9/23/2021, 8:26 AM

If you make the In and Out points the same, you will not have a loop region. Just press I then O and both in and out will be set to your current cursor position. You can also accomplish this by dragging either of the yellow handles to the same position as the other. Is that what you're after?

joelsonforte.br wrote on 9/23/2021, 8:33 AM

Go to Options/Preferences/Editing and check the option Collapse loop region when no time selection is present.

RogerS wrote on 9/23/2021, 9:09 AM

Interesting, so you can hit io to effectively nullify a selection. That should work.
I tried Joelson's setting too. That's generally useful but if you have a selection you can't click anywhere in it or it nullifies it. So I'd probably have to disable it for certain edits. Look forward to trying both approaches.

No, not really. The yellow In/Out still there in the timeline. When I connect with my TourBox, the wheel knob that I've bind with VEGAS Pro play head will move together, but it also create a region selection in the same time.

What is better about it than Shuttle Pro V2?
To me it looks far less ergonomic and the number of controls is also less. It is also much more expensive.

@walter-i.

Perhaps a new feature for 'Magic Automa' when you have time.

@alifftudm95, There is a script to easily remove that with just one click... Thus the process is even easier than in Resolve once you place it on the toolbar :

Vegas.Project.Markers.Clear();
Vegas.Project.Regions.Clear();
Vegas.Project.CDIndices.Clear();
Vegas.Project.CDTracks.Clear();
Vegas.Project.CommandMarkers.Clear();

Save this as a JScript. And you can easily add anything else following the same language.

jetdv wrote on 6/22/2022, 8:04 AM

@Steve_Rhoden, that code will remove all Markers, Regions, CD Track Markers, CD Indices, and Command Markers. It will do nothing for the Selection Area.

To clear the selection area, you'd need:

Vegas.Transport.SelectionStart = Vegas.Transport.CursorPosition;
Vegas.Transport.SelectionLength = new Timecode(0);

Steve_Rhoden wrote on 6/22/2022, 8:55 AM

@jetdv Thanks for clearing that up!
