Render as does not show any GPU profiles in VP 19 (build 550)

BobN2Tech wrote on 5/6/2022, 9:18 PM

I just upgraded from VMS 17.0 to VP 19, and when I went to render as.. I did not see any profile that would include the AMD Graphics card or even intel QSV. I have GPU acceleration checked in Preference..Video and it show the AMD graphics card, but nothing shown for render as. In VMS 17.0 I do see all the profiles for both Intel and AMD. Is there an another option to enable?

In my MAGIX AVC or HEVC. I don't see the AMD nor Intel QSV as any rendering profile in VP 19 there. But they are all there when I run VMS 17.

I just installed the Vegas Pro 19. There's nothing to reset. I only discovered this when loading a VMS 17 project and went to render and saw no profiles for AMD or QSV.

The check for driver update indicated AMD Radeon RX 570 ver 22.04.02 which is already installed and up to date. The intel QSV shows up to date as well. I tried re-installing the AMD driver again, but still no template shown in Render as...

BobN2Tech wrote on 5/8/2022, 12:33 AM

I do not see any choice other than auto (off) and off (see screen), But rendering is an encoding function, not a decoding.

@BobN2Tech Dunno, but in my mind a GPU needs to decode in order to encode, it needs to be able to read in order to write 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

BobN2Tech wrote on 5/8/2022, 1:50 AM

Nope. I tried that before posting this, and the GPU did not show. It's so strange that I see all GPU templates in VMS 17.0 and not here. I've gone though all the settings in VMS and compared those that are in VP 19, and nothing I can find.

@BobN2Tech I've read loads but everyones prob seems to be individual to them 🤷‍♂️

when a plugin doesn't show I go to C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0 & delete a couple of files in the bottom of the BIN section, Sometimes i just delete everything in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0. doing that clears out old BAK & temp files, I know your problem isn't plugins it's your GPU, but i just did a search in that folder & it shows this,

you could try doing that, delete everything in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0, Vegas will take a bit longer next time you open it but/while it rebuild all those files, prob won't work but it won't do any harm 🤷‍♂️

BobN2Tech wrote on 5/8/2022, 2:44 AM

Deleted (renamed appData....\Vegas Pro\19.0 to 19.0 original. Started again, no GPUs. I am really beginning tor regret upgrading. I tried my first render to do 4k (of course no GPU), and at 19% it just stopped going any further. I click cancel, I waited and waited for the busy cursor to go away and after 10 minutes, I just killed the application via task manager. So far, VMS 17.0 has not any of these problems.

@BobN2Tech Hi, can you go to your icon at the top of this screen, click it - My Profile, & fill in your Signature with your Vegas version, Windows version & system specs, the full name of your CPU, GPU, & the amount of RAM etc. this will then show at the bottom of the comments 👍

Also there's a tool called MediaInfo, download it, it's free https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo
After downloading, right click on the media in your Windows folder, open MediaInfo, choose Text from the View option, select all, copy & paste in a comment here,

Thanks

This photo shows you have 16GB of RAM, for 4k the System requirements pic above show 32GB,

BobN2Tech wrote on 5/8/2022, 12:30 PM

I have added my info to the signature. While the 4K video is not a requirement for 32GB system RAM, it is only a recommendation. I still have the same issue with no GPU trying to do 1080p video. I have used mediaInfo for over 3 decades. There's nothing unusual about the video formats I am using (GoPro and DJI Mini2 camera drone video clips). I see you are using Vegas Pro 18. I am using Vegas Pro 19. Perhaps, something got broken?

Which driverversion do you use for that Intel Grafics?
I ask that because on my laptop I used the latest driver version for the 630 and I saw with VPro 19 all kinds of problems. Changing to the last Beta driver for the 630 cleared all my problems

Try a reset of Vegas Pro 19 and see if it fixes your issue. While not related to encoding that there's also no GPU for decoding is not a good sign.

RogerS - I do see both intel QSV and AMD for GPU acceleration in the preferences .. Video which AMD is selected.

And I did a reset.. same problem - no GPUs in the Render templates.
