Render Crashes

I just built a new machine with 16 GB RAM, Intel i7-8700 processor, 500 GB solid state hard drive, plus two 8 TB hard drives for internal storage, Windows 10, and a graphics card. I then upgraded from Vegas Pro 14 to Vegas Pro 16.0.361. I am trying to render a two-hour video to either m2t or MP4 format. Every time the render crashes at 71% complete, almost on the exact same frame. Vegas becomes unresponsive and I have to ctrl-alt-delete and close it in task manager. Have disabled GPU accelerator, but it is no better. Have tried to render 4 or 5 times now. Any suggestions?

@Richard-Wallin

The only time that kind of thing has happened to me is when Vegas codecs do NOT like something in the source Video bit stream . If you can watch the Vegas Viewer to see where render crashes . Mark the area on the time line , say , +-5 minutes , and render out that 10 minute interval . Does that same area still crash ? That doesn't solve anything . just something extra to inspect .
