This is a user to user support forum. If you want to deal with Magix start here:

http://www.magix.com/us/support/

There is a phone number at the bottom of the screen where you can discuss your concerns with a Magix employee.

Personally, as I was getting stuck with older systems, I always downloaded the evaluation copy of Vegas (or Sony Vegas as it used to be called) to make sure I do not buy something my computer cannot handle. Because of that, I never upgraded to version 13 (version 12 worked just fine even on my previous computer).

Last year I bought my current system, which is fully compatible even with the current (Magix) version 14. Again, I tested it first and only after I determined it worked on my system, did I upgrade to v.14 and am very happy with it. And yes, this is a professional video editing program. As such it can only run on professional-quality hardware.

Many software companies offer no refunds because they expect you to test the evaluation copy of their software on your system. I suspect Magix may be willing to refund your purchase because they have a way to disable the software on your system (at least I think they do). But, as john_dennis said, you need to ask them.

Before you ask for a refund, maybe you could try troubleshooting the reason for your crashing with these suggestions: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-troubleshooting-crashing-and-stability--104785/

Personally. I would like to see the full specs of the hardware you are running vegas on. You can get a utility called "Speccy" that will output what you system is. Post a snapshot and let the community see what you got.

Then post "Media Info" details on your source material.

Then post details on your edit workflow from image capture, project settings, timeline&effects, to render preferences.

My guess is your issues are likely hardware related, or your workflow. Hardware being most likely.

The community can help you sometime more than support, or let you know where you can improve.

Bad mouthing software at V13 and 14 is a pretty immature attitude, when there are tons of users not experiencing what you are. You might consider the fact that the problem could be what YOU are doing.
