Render on Remote Desktop Protocol produces garbled audio

When I render a 1080p with 48K 16bit audio video (same as imported source) connected to the below system via Remote Desktop Protocol with connection setting "Play audio on Remote Computer" or "Do Nothing" I get garbled audio. If I get in front of the computer (not connect via RDP) it renders fine. Is there a way to render on a remote connection with good audio?

@dsteinschneider

Are you using Windows 10 Professional on both machines or a mix of Home and Professional?

These are the sound options that I have on Windows 10 Professional.

With Vegas Pro 21-315, I just rendered a short piece using "Play on remote computer" with no problems.

It is Win 10 pro on both sides. I didn't try "Play on remote computer" - will report back how I make out.
