Rendering at 1 fps ?

DiDequ wrote on 1/18/2015, 2:17 AM
Hello.

I cannot render a project (HD 1920x1080) with a single picture per second setting for a special purpose.

Is it possible to do this with Vegas (13) ?

Or
Can I automatically save jpg or png pictures in a folder, using a preset framerate (1 picture/second in my case)
May be a plugin can do this ?

The Search function of the forum did not help me.

Thank you for any comment.

In Media Properties you can set the Undersample rate.

For some unknown reason it seems to be limited to 0,1 getting 3 Fps if the media was 30 Fps.

But you can render this to a new track - and then set the Undersample rate for this new media to achieve what you want.

If you get a kind of "stuttering"" result - just set "Disable Resample" switch for both the original media and also for the media on the new track.

Options / Preferences / Editing

Set New Still Image Length to 1.0 seconds.

Any new still images added to the timeline will be 1 second long.

Set New Still Image Length to 1.0 seconds.

I did that of course, but the rendered file is too large.
If I can render it at 1 fps, this file will be very small - or exporting pictures could be another clue.
I did some color settings, rotations, cropping, etc, with multiple projetcs, and would like to email some of them without loosing quality, using my project settings ...

My project is almost done, the blueray will have very few free space ...

"If I can render it at 1 fps, this file will be very small..."

Frame rate has no effect on file size. The only variable that affects file size is bit rate. If your videos don't fit on the target physical media, you must lower the bit rate or use more disks.

On the other hand, a file that is truly 1fps can use a much lower bitrate and sustain good quality compared to a file that has 29.95fps even if the image only changes once every second.

"...even if the image only changes once every second."

Especially if the image only change once per second.

I usually use a personal website because I can add restrictions if necessary. Using Dropbox is fine in certain circumstances...

I solved my problem, with Blender :
some explanations for those who are not used to this free software
Open Blender and acording to the picture below
1 clic add to add the video you rendered with Vegas
2 check your resolution
3 set the framerate at 1fps
4 check that the Sequencer box is checked
bottom of the picture , you choose the destination directory and your filename.
and below, the output format (jpg, png, avi, etc), the codec (h264 or whatever)
5 clic Animation button and wait (it is very fast)
