rendering glitches in V14 since installing v15

Hi all,

I'm experiencing seemingly random glitches in my exports in a project that used to render flawlessly several times before installing V15.( source is DNxHD145 ). It's extremely annoying and delaying my work considerably, it seems it has to do with NB titler. Have a look at the different erroirs it produced in 3 different renders ( main concept AVC, 2 pass, deblocking on, max 20, average 16). First pic is the normal V14 timeline with how it's supposed to look.

There were some others with the TV showing random white noise patterns, another time the flower pot disappeared for a second.

This is really freaking me out and I have no idea what the cause is. As said, it happens randomly, and at first it seemed to be only in this scene involving titler pro 5 . But another scene with the same compositing setup and no titler pro, all the layers temporarily mess up too, like so:

Also, as mentioned, it never happened befor the install of v15. Waiting for the long renders each time and not knowing what's going to happen is a total showstopper. Whatever the problem is or has become, please fix it!

EDIT: The problem seems to disappear when the project is set to 8 bit as opposed to 32, which isn't any good because I always render in 32bit, as the fades get a lot smoother.

Are you rendering with the legacy MainConcept encoder (enabled in the internal preferences) or the MainConcept mode of the new Magix AVC renderer?

Does it happen if you render to other formats?

Does it happen if you turn off GPU acceleration of video processing?

You could try converting the DNxHD to something else to get Quicktime out of the workflow.

Thanks Nick,

I render in V14 that still has the old main concept encoder. Happend in Sony AVC and mainconcept AVC.

I didn't bother reencoding because I've worked in this project with the DNX file for weeks now and the rendering was never messed up like this. It's not the source file problem.

BUT...here comes our good ole friend " disable GPU acceleration before rendering"... and now it works!

Remember the black frames anyone?

So the question remains... what on earth messed up V14 so badly that this started to occur in the first place?

Either it's V15 ( trial) or some Native Instruments VST plugs I added - which I really doubt.

Or your graphics card driver got updated. If you didn't do it, Windows Update might have.

No, I keep autoupdates disabled, especially for the graphics card.

So I experimented some more. I thought it might have been the ASIO driver of my older Didi 002, but no change switching to the windows driver. Still same issues with GPU on, clean renders with GPU off.

Updated my Radeon 290 drivers today from 15.30.1025 to 17.7.2 and strangely enough, the renders are now clean with GPU on. Never had the issue at all before though.

Go figure.

No, not solved at all...the issue just reappeared.

Just lost another couple of hours rerendering with GPU off. Could someone at Magix please look into this?

Thanks.

Does it happen if you open the project in VP15 and render in that? You would probably get a watermark on the rendered video though.

How about if you uninstall the VP15 trial? You could adapt the clean uninstall instructions here to really nuke it.

Finally, maybe you could share a simplified VP14 project and media that exhibits the issue, for others to test.
