Rendering Problems

Please help me with a rendering problem that has suddenly appeared. I'm using Vegas Pro 13 with windows 7. One the project I'm working on now (a dance show about two hours long) I'm experiencing super long render times -20 plus hours. There is nothing different about this project (no intensive graphics-just simple titles).I usually render something like this in around two hours. The other big problem, besides the long render time is when it finishes rendering -the resulting file plays fine until the last 10 minutes or so and then there is no video-only audio. The video goes black. I've rendered it several times over the last few days and it always goes black at about the same place. It plays fine on the timeline but once it's rendered I experience this problem. Please help -this is turning my hair gray. Thanks in advance.

Do careful "audit" of your project.
Similar troubles happen when there are Events with FX duplicated on themselves.

"Vegasaur" utility does do the required audit.

Import the rendered video back into Vegas to check its length.
The most technically simple reason to have got "black screen with sound" would be having got the similarly named audio file of longer duration in the very same folder. Players will decide "it is external audio" and play it along.

Work through this and please come back with as much as possible of the info requested in section #9: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-why-does-my-rendered-video-look-bad-troubleshooting-quality--103361/

Thank you Jam_One and Nick,

Thank you for your quick responses to my dilemma. Before I received your answers I tried one more thing. I opened a new instance of Vegas and copied the entire project onto the new timeline and rendered it. It took about 10 hours (still haven't figured why so long) but it finally worked! Thank you so much for your input and I will keep your work arounds on file in case I run into trouble in the future..
