Rendering produces one frame and black video

Hi,

I have just brought and downloaded the latest Vegas V22 build 122, and have loaded up series of videos from an iphone 11. Editing and preview is fine.

When I go to render, regardless of the settings, it renders the first frame and sound for that frame and everything else is black. This is not how it has worked in the past (long ago I used Sony Vegas).

  • I have restarted reopened the project.
  • Have tried various settings in the render from wmv to mp4, same result, one key frame then blackness.
  • I've searched for issues like this and mostly they are quite dated (2022 or earlier).
  • Tried adjusting pixel format 8bit, 32bit etc
  • Currently set to sRGB aces in the prefs.
  • Render quality set to good
  • Currently rendering a video that comes out at 8,161kb. first frame is visible, sound is active then blackscreen for the duration.
  • Prerendering the files in another application "any video converter ultimate", and rendering those files in Vegas, creates an entirely black screen. The files AVC creates are viewable prior to the render attempt.

Can you share key information including your CPU and GPU model and a screenshot of your render settings?

Please try one of the sample projects in my signature and follow the render settings listed there. Does it render?

I would try a basic render format like MagixAVC with Mainconcept or a GPU enabled one if you are in a hurry (VCE, QSV or NVENC).

For pixel format stick with 8-bit full unless you have a reason to change it.
