Rendering to DVD V13 differs from V15 (ghosty and bad)

Julius_ wrote on 12/10/2017, 11:43 AM

Hi,

I rendered in mpg and in V13 all is good..but in V15 the footage is like the disample resample is not activated and it's very ghosty and lousy footage.

Even in v13 if I leave the resample on, it's still good compared to V15. In V13 the images are more smooth.

The footage is the same for both and I am viewing the mpg generated file.

My V13 settings are the same as in V15:

My V13 settings:

V13 Results:

My V15 settings:

V15 Result:

It was so bad that my client told me about it and I'm trying to fix it....The project was created in V15 and I can't go back to V13...and yes she wants a DVD instead on mp4 (which the problem doesn't occur)...maybe my codecs??? Help!

Thanks

In your Vegas 15 Project Properties, the Field Order is set to None. Assuming your source is interlaced, is it not?

It is progessive..they are both set to none (in V13 and V15) in the project setting , but the rendering setting it's interlaced (for DVD). Is that the problem in V15?

"Is that the problem in V15?"

I'll begin my V15 trial when the release notes indicate better support for AMD devices. Until then or until I get a new camera or some other unanticipated reason, I'll have to defer specific V15 questions to others.

@Julius_, are you sure your source files are progressive? The example shot from Vegas 15 looks like interlaced footage. When downscaling from 1080i to 480i for DVD, you will probably get better results using "Interpolate Fields" rather than "Blend Fields".

Yes. This was shot with my canon 7d at 30p...I used the same footage in V13 and In v15.I tried the Interpolate Field and it worked! It's a lot better!

I don't know why there is a difference from V13 and V15, but here is the info in the file that is differently progressive
