Request: Shift+B should work everytime

Sirio wrote on 3/23/2023, 4:15 AM

REQUEST:
The shortcut Shift+B (Build Dynamic RAM Preview) should work every time whatever window is active.

Currently, if I am modifying an FX or a setting of a generated media and I press Shift+B in order to calculate the preview, the shortcut doesn't works, because the FX window is active and not the timeline. This is really boring and a lost of time, that for any changes we have to click before on the timeline to make it active and then make the shortcut.

Is it a way to do this or to see this in a next update?

Thanks

It appears Shift+B is under every category EXCEPT "Explorer" and "Global" in Options - Customize Keyboard. I suppose you could add it to "Global" and it would then work as you desired.

@jetdvΒ This annoys me a just a little sometimes so thanks πŸ‘

It gives you an option of using Ctrl or Alt, I went with Alt+B as it's easier for me to press with one hand (I have two hands btw πŸ˜‚) . that works πŸ‘

This is my purpose and it works:
Completely forget the Shift+B, anyway this shortcut has no meaning link with a RAM preview.

I customize Keyboard and for every BuildRAMPreview I create this new shortcut: ALT GR + P (Ctrl+Alt+P).
P is for Preview. The shortcut is easy to do with one hand, hand that is already in JKL position.

I have tested it for weeks, is better, faster, more logical.
