An updated Credit Roll would be nice. Currently the program crashes during autosave if a lot of credits are placed in 1 column (think from around 450 columns onwards).

Also, when importing names from a notepad for credits, special characters do not import. So for example, René turns into René

When playing audio and an overload is shown on a meter, add a choice to the right-click context menu to Go To The Peak.

Customizable Keyboard shortcut to duplicate a track.

I'd like to see the general preferences tab paired down and organized by category. It is a hard to navigate jumble of items.

@RogerS especially for new users to the software coming from a more consumer oriented editor.

How about a Search Box for Plugin Chooser dialog?

How about being able to change properties of selected multiple events in timeline?

@juan_rios
No, because this has been built in since the beginning.
Right mouse button on the audio track - toggle - normalize

Todd-A0 wrote on 3/16/2023, 8:30 PM

Vegas does not read many Open source, royalty free codecs and containers. In this example I show the children's editor Capcut reading VP9,VP8,AV1 video and Vorbis and Opus audio

If a free consumer editor can read these formats, I believe a Pro editor such as Vegas should too

* The error capcut shows "Unrecognized track waveform" is actually to do with webm that does not contain an audio track, capcut expects audio.

Reyfox wrote on 3/17/2023, 5:55 AM

Ok..... a "lock" on the track header to lock the entire track is something I would love.

I recall reading somewhere, probably on another forum, that there are potential legal issues if commercial software uses open source codecs.

Thanks for your interest, but I mean another normalization, that of perceived loudness. In Vegas we can adjust the Loudness Meter:

See the Loudness Meter:

And even create a summary of the loudness record:

but we cannot normalize the loudness as in other programs, for example:

If no one has asked for it, I insist on asking for it in this post.

Regards.

@Reyfox It's very simple because most of it's users would likely be the tiktok kids who are using the same app on their phone, with the more serious tiktokers using it on pc or mac. They could have had an 'advanced' mode though.

I recall reading somewhere, probably on another forum, that there are potential legal issues if commercial software uses open source codecs.

@EricLNZ Resolve and Resolve Studio will load AV1 and VP9, but not in a webm container, and annoyingly will not load opus or vorbis audio which seems a bit unusual, maybe due to potential legal problems, It means you still can't grab a high quality AV1 or VP9 video from YT with opus or vorbis audio and use it, although using a transcoder to copy the video while re-encoding the audio is much more efficient than encoding both audio and video.

Well lets just have VP9 and AV1 video on Vegas Pro.

VEGASDerek wrote on 3/18/2023, 12:04 PM

AV1 is very high on our priority list. We are simply trying to find the time and engineering resources to get it done.

Howard-Vigorita wrote on 3/18/2023, 1:12 PM

Would also suggest rendering vp9_qsv with the Magix encoders. I just did a test 4k render to vp9_qsv/opus to an mkv container with Voukoder 13 and uploaded it to YouTube and it digested it to it's own vp9/opus internal storage no fuss, no muss. But I'd rather do it without a render plugin for higher quality such as I get with Magix Hevc.

1) Remember the parent timeline cursor position and return to the position where your cursor was on the parent timeline when you go back from the nested timeline to the parent timeline.

2) When going into the nested timeline, automatically put the cursor on the beginning of the nested timeline or somewhere in the middle of the nested timeline.

This would help a lot with editing efficiency and is pretty easy to implement without to many risks I would imagine.

Why:

Usually the parent timeline is long and the nested timeline is short. When going into the nested timeline my cursor position is way off horizontal scrolls away to the right. And when I return, the cursor is usually somewhere at the beginning of the parent track - way off to the left from the original parent time line cursor location.

I would love to see Vegas implement sky replacement (possibly AI supported) like some of the photo editors like luminar...

Belgium and the Netherlands do not often have blue skies with nice fluffy clouds. More than I would like we have grey uniform drab!

REQUEST:
The shortcut Shift+B (Build Dynamic RAM Preview) should work every time whatever window is active.

Currently, if I am modifying an FX or a setting of a generated media and I press Shift+B in order to calculate the preview, the shortcut doesn't works, because the FX window is active and not the timeline. This is really boring and a lost of time, that for any changes we have to click before on the timeline to make it active and then make the shortcut.

Is it a way to do this or to see this in a next update?

Thanks
