I really wish Vegas would show the length of an event during ripple editing on the timeline, exactly like lengths of transitions are shown. In other words this:

In the meantime I keep the edit details window open above the timeline, displaying the length of the selected event. This is a workaround but it's very clumsy:

As a better workaround I am wondering if it might be possible to make a script that takes the length of the selected event and shows it in a little window that can be moved about the screen? Something like this:
[IMG=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v290/bubblevision/script.jpg]
Then it would take up less screen real estate and the edit details window could be used for other purposes. Is it possible?
