Script Request: Selected Event Length Box

I really wish Vegas would show the length of an event during ripple editing on the timeline, exactly like lengths of transitions are shown. In other words this:

[IMG=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v290/bubblevision/would-like.jpg]

In the meantime I keep the edit details window open above the timeline, displaying the length of the selected event. This is a workaround but it's very clumsy:

[IMG=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v290/bubblevision/doing-now.jpg]

As a better workaround I am wondering if it might be possible to make a script that takes the length of the selected event and shows it in a little window that can be moved about the screen? Something like this:

[IMG=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v290/bubblevision/script.jpg]

Then it would take up less screen real estate and the edit details window could be used for other purposes. Is it possible?

Actually, there is a thread in the Vegas forum where someone is developing a script that might be able to do what you want. Look for that script, download it and use it, and then contact the author.

Well, what Rosebud has achieved with that script is what made me wonder if this one is possible. I've alerted him to this thread.
