I've installed Vegas and want to backup custom Video FX and transitions. How do I do this?
To restore all your video FX presets after you uninstall an application, use the following steps BEFORE you uninstall.
WARNING: The Registry is a very sensitive area to work in. If you are not comfortable with advanced configuration and system changes, ask an administrator to help you with this.
TO BACK UP NON-OFX PRESETS:
1a. Windows XP, Vista, 7: Click Start in Windows and type regedit in the search field, then hit Enter on your keyboard
1b. Windows 8, 8.1, 10: Select the Windows Key + R on your keyboard. This opens a Run dialog. Type in regedit then hit enter.
2. Locate the Presets folder by going to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DXTransform\Presets
3. Right click the Presets folder and click Export
4. Save this folder to a safe place on your Desktop or to a flashdrive.
TO BRING YOUR PRESETS BACK INTO THE PROGRAM:
1a. Windows XP, Vista, 7: Click Start in Windows and type regedit in the search field, then hit Enter on your keyboard
1b. Windows 8, 8.1, 10: Select the Windows Key + R on your keyboard. This opens a Run dialog. Type in regedit then hit enter.
2. Go to File > Import
3. In this new window, locate the Presets folder that you backed up earlier
TO BACK UP OFX PRESETS:
1. Open Windows Exporer and locate the OFX Presets folder in your My Documents folder.
2. Save this OFX Presets folder to a safe place on your Desktop or to a flashdrive.
