I've installed Vegas and want to backup custom Video FX and transitions.  How do I do this?

To restore all your video FX presets after you uninstall an application, use the following steps BEFORE you uninstall.

WARNING: The Registry is a very sensitive area to work in.  If you are not comfortable with advanced configuration and system changes, ask an administrator to help you with this.

TO BACK UP NON-OFX PRESETS:

1a. Windows XP, Vista, 7: Click Start in Windows and type regedit in the search field, then hit Enter on your keyboard

1b. Windows 8, 8.1, 10: Select the Windows Key + R on your keyboard. This opens a Run dialog. Type in regedit then hit enter.

2. Locate the Presets folder by going to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DXTransform\Presets

3. Right click the Presets folder and click Export

4. Save this folder to a safe place on your Desktop or to a flashdrive.

TO BRING YOUR PRESETS BACK INTO THE PROGRAM:

2. Go to File > Import

3. In this new window, locate the Presets folder that you backed up earlier

TO BACK UP OFX PRESETS:

1. Open Windows Exporer and locate the OFX Presets folder in your My Documents folder.

2. Save this OFX Presets folder to a safe place on your Desktop or to a flashdrive.
