Settings for HD Video for PAL DVD

Hi. I have a 1080p 25fps HD video which I want to burn to DVD (not bluray). I'm not sure of the render settings in VP13 and the burn settings in DVDA. Can anyone point me in the right direction. The DVD is for use on PCs, DVD players and UK TVs. I know I need the mpeg 2 template but do I need PAL or PAL widescreen? I'm OK with the audio.

HD is always widescreen, so you should choose that. DVDs are always interlaced, so if you have 25p you should render to 50i (i.e. 50 interlaced fields per second). Set deinterlace method in the project properties to "none" (may not be necessary). Set the video properties to not blend fields (may not be necessary). Choose the Main Concept PAL DVD widescreen template and render the video without audio and then render the audio to AC3 Pro template.

The output will be labelled as interlaced, but the two fields making up a frame will refer to the same time instant and not 1/50 sec apart as for true interlaced video, and so it will appear to the viewer as 25p, not 50i.

Render using the DVD Architect PAL Widescreen template for the video; and,
The AC3 DVD template for the audio.

Make sure that it is the Pro, not the Studio version of AC3, or else DVDA will render the audio again, and possibly take a long time doing it.
