Severe Timeline Lag In Vegas 19

Hey, I'm having quite a few issues with my Vegas 19 (Build 381). I recently upgraded from 16 to see if that would improve performance but 19 actually runs far slower. I don't think it's my computer since I use a RTX 3090 with a 5950x and 64 GB of RAM on Windows 10, but whenever I try to click into an audio track on the timeline, VEGAS slows down completely and takes about 5 seconds to buffer. Then if I click to anywhere else on the timeline, it takes another 5 seconds to buffer. It's a weird issue that never happened in 16. You can see a video comparing the two attached.

If anyone would happen to have any ideas, any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Are you using the legacy decoders in preferences>file i/o? Don't, if so. If not, try it and see if it helps, but you want to avoid it unless absolutely necessary, as the older decoders can't do certain formats.

Ya, unfortunately I've tried each iteration with and without the legacy decoders with no significant improvement at either end.

i doubt this is it, but i always recommend this when troubleshooting... go to help, and the driver update tool. does it recommend new drivers?

Yes that's exactly it actually. I still haven't found a proper fix yet, but someone on reddit recommended I copy / paste the entire project into a new one and that actually worked. So perhaps I can just do that until the update is out for the new build.
