something strange happens

Each time I open Vegas it opens empty. If some setting has change I wouldn't know which because I have in effect never emptied the GUI. Does anyone know what happened?

I am not quite sure what you mean.
Do you mean that the previous project is not opened? That would be this setting in the preferences:
