Ok, we have a repro- only in 98SE. Is anybody seeing this with another OS?

If you are encountering the problem described on this thread, you may want to try the beta fix described below (please post the results here). You must follow these steps exactly.

1) go to C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Vegas 3.0\Video Hardware Drivers

and rename the file: "extmondrv.dll" to "extmondrv.old"

2) go to:

ftp://porker.sonicfoundry.com/

username: dude
password: sweet
folder: beta .dlls

copy the file "extmondrv.dll" to C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Vegas 3.0\Video Hardware Drivers

3) close and restart Vegas, and try the HSL plug-in as you had previously.

4) If after following the above steps you run into new problems that you think may be related to this change:

delete "extmondrv.dll"

rename "extmondrv.old" to "extmondrv.dll"

close and restart Vegas. The steps described in #4 will return you to the default installation.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!

SonicEPM,
I can't thank you enough for seeing this one through. The beta .dll worked perfectly. I tested it and Printed to Tape transcoding the file through the camera to my VHS dubbing rack. Made several test runs and not one violet screen using the HSL filter. Thanks again for your fantastic support!
