Sony Creative Software is a sad sad joke

I had the same error message. I was looking for a fix. I may have activated it too much. XP, then went to VISTA, then shifted to Win 7 (same PC). Everything worked fine. Then the HD went out so, if I had to re-install the OS, I swapped the MOBO and processor.

Now it says it can't activate online. It then brings me to a screen to get an activation code from support. I called at 5:55 CST and they were already closed (supposed to be 6:00 CST).

BTW, this first happened yesturday and I sent an e-mail to support. But because I got the "not supported in Windows 7" message I can only suppose the message never got to support... since nobody responded. So I sent another one--but said I had VISTA 64 just so it would get to support. It works fine under Windows 7 (I never had a problem)--and I only need an activation code, not an OS related fix.

Looks like I'll have to wait for Monday!! Uh, wait--I have the BIG video project for the boy scouts I have to do over the weekend.

Hmmm... I can feel your frustration.

In my case, I'll upgrade to 9.0 and start over (I just didn't see many 9.0 features I needed and it doesn't seem to be as stable). Besides, I was waiting for 10 to see if there were any more compelling features.

I was actually hoping for a solution--wait for Monday seems to be it. Thanks. BTW - Hi Victor (I've been busy with my consulting side of the business and haven't posted here for awhile)

Did you try a system restore?

Bud,

That is not an option for him as he has nothing to restore to.
