Sony Vegas Pro 13 Timeline video goes black during render and crashes?

Hi everyone, recently came here before to find help for a solution to a problem I was having with Vegas Pro. I kind of solved it and up until yesterday night I've been having another problem. As the title says, I try to render my video as a MP4 file at 60fps recorded with a game capture device. And as soon as it starts rendering, the video on the timeline goes black I noticed, so to me it almost seems like the video will be black after it's rendered?? Last night I let it rendered and it got up to 77% but no more and crashed on me saying "Vegas Pro has stopped working" and forced me to close out the program.

I just want to state here that I'm no Tech expert so anything you may ask me, I mostly won't understand what you mean, sorry.

Copy and paste this link to download my project file to test it if you want: http://www.mediafire.com/file/7q0aq2ke1pwtv27/spreading+love.+%28video%29.veg

I've edited the video I wanted and is 46 seconds long and I've used many effects and downloaded plug-ins on the clips. Just when I go to render it after, is when the problem occurs.

Note: I've tried going to Options > Preferences > And turning off GPU Acceleration of Video Processing.

I've also tried "Close media files when not the active application" and turning that off.

And many tutorials on YouTube which has no help at all.

Any help would be great thanks.

I could not yet download and test your project file but will do later.

In the past we had several issues with gameplay videos which obviously had out of standard video properties - variable frame rates, false color space definition, different video and audio frame rates, and so on.

I would always recommend to only use video sources which strictly conform to common video standards and if not, transcode them before importing into Vegas Pro. Professional NLEs are much more critical than simple video players are in the need of source files which are free of any technical issues due to nonconform properties.

So please ensure your source clips conform common standards first.

Without the project media and the following plug-ins on the local system any attempt to replicate the problem is futile.

Does it take that many effects to spread love these days? I've been out of the love-spreading business for a while, now.

You're still using a floatpoint project instead of 8 bit.

kieran_alexander_hughes wrote on 1/4/2018, 5:55 PM

I did try 8 bit but it doesn't seem to do anything so I changed it back to 32 bit floating point. Is that wrong to do?

Usually there is zero reason to do while floatpoint mode eats lots of system resources and may affect your video's luma and color in a way you'd probably don't want to.

I had a go by trying a new project and importing something else. It seems to be working fine now as I go to render a video. After rendered it looks and plays fine. Next time I make a new project, I'll make sure to use video sources which strictly conform to common video standards like you said Marco, thanks for any help.
