Stabilization update VEGAS Pro 16 Build Num 352

Just updated my VEGAS Pro 16 to version 352. I found out the new Video Stabilization have more control and features, but I still discovering and learning on understanding the newer stabilizer system. But the only thing I wish on the update was the Stabilization FX does not interfere with PAN/Crop. I'm doing some masking and realize it doesn't match with the preview after I stabilize the footage.

I think there is a signal flow conflict. The frame shown in the Pan/Crop editing window was processed before the Media FX but actually Pan/Crop then applies after the Media FX.

Is there any way to solve this problem? The only way to overcome this problem I have to mask it first, then render it in new timeline which is kinda destructive editing.

By logic this is to be expected because the pan crop for masking is applied in the original event without the effect of stabilization applied.

One solution is to render the event with the stabilization effect and then use the pancrop or the inverse.

Another solution is to create a nested project only for stabilized events and then use the pan crop on them.

Or use the new Bézier Mask FX instead.

Joelson-Forte, in the Vegas Pro signal flow the Media FX are applied before Pan/Crop (see the flow chart below), but the Pan/Crop preview uses the frame before the Media FX are applied. This is a processing-previewing-missmatch.

Great idea @Marco. I had not thought of Belzier MaskFX.

The Basic mode is probably too basic. User should be able to change smoothing at least.

There's a problem with presets. For example, when I save a preset with a smoothing of 3 (Professional), and then recall the preset later, the smoothing value of 3 is not used after the analyzing stage, and the checkbox linking smoothing to autozoom is unchecked. The smoothing value is something like 0.5 or 0.8. I'm thinking that batch processing stabilization with Vegasaur won't work.

Help needs to be updated -- especially for expert mode --, and it would be nice if there was pop-up help when you click on the plug-in's "?".
